The Reviews

Situated in the heart of Surfers Paradise, House of Brews is a new American BBQ taphouse that is giving beer-loving locals something to smile about.

House of Brews

With an impressive 32 craft beers on tap including James Squire, Little Creatures and Burleigh Brewing Company, the eatery has cemented it’s place as one of the Gold Coast’s newest unique dining experiences. Opened by brothers Sacha, Ben and Damien Kanaghines, the taphouse features a rooftop patio overlooking Orchid Avenue providing an eclectic backdrop for a dining experience like no other.

House of Brews

With live blues on the weekend, House of Brews is quickly becoming the place to be for a Sunday sesh. One word of caution for weekend goers, and anyone visiting the restaurant, be prepared to eat! With a menu filled with traditional American flavours, the choices are endless. From an Onion Ring Tower with Dripping Truffle Cheese Sauce to a giant martini glass filled to the brim with Fluffy Pink Fairy Floss, it’s like all your childhood food dreams coming true.

Having to choose from 14 unique burgers is no easy task for anyone, but we decided to try the Hola Mexicana, Pulled Pork, the Red Neck and the Trio of Sliders. Oozing with flavour, the burgers are rich, decadent and most importantly, delicious. With sides including Pulled Beef Nachos and Smoky BBQ Buffalo Wings, the meal turns into a small feast and you cant help but overindulge. The buffalo wings were scrumptious and filled with the traditional flavour that many places who try to replicate the American wings don’t succeed at.

The beer tasting paddle would have to be something to try on our next visit. Served in 90mL glasses, you can choose up to 6 different beers and get your favourite for free at the end. The drinks menu consists of countless wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages to suit everyone. We tried the Above The Clouds cocktail, garnished with fairy floss, which made for a sweet drink to go along with our sweet desserts. Anyone visiting House of Brews must try the Passionfruit and White Chocolate Cheesecake. It is just divine. We also sampled the Cotton Candy Tower, which is sure to get you on a sugar high.

House of Brews
With the restaurant having deals throughout the week including $1 wings on Monday nights, House of Brews has something to offer everyone, and the offer is just too delicious to refuse.
